Many times per week I become requested guidance with regards to multi forward published by others throughout business time. Because it is a business e-mail does that mean they not any longer own it? Because an e-mail is written on business time, fails to negate copyright and common courtesy.

In case you copy the very first sender or ask if it is O.K. before forwarding their e-mail? Ccing doesnt negate asking for permission. E-mails are sent and written towards the party for which these people were intended, irrespective of when or where they are written and are never to be shipped to others without having the senders permission first. Period or risk the outcomes.

Now, as we know, there must be no expectation of privacy online. But that doesnt mean anything goes or that business courtesy is trashed the window!

You can be putting your company in legal jeopardy if you forward outside of the company and you can be putting your reputation being a professional at stake by forwarding internally. Running a business, copyright issues are a lot more at play and every responsible company needs to have a policy on which can and really should be forwarded and the way via e-mail.

Common courtesy dictates you may not forward minus the original senders knowledge. They may not appreciate the e-mail they wrote for your needs being sent to those they dont know. Or they mult1forward not mind whatsoever. So just ask!

Certainly it should go without stating that while on company time the forwarding of shall we say anything questionable content-wise (NSF = Not Safe for Work) or not business related simply really should not be forwarded whatsoever. Save those e-mails for your personal personal account throughout personal time.
